Turn Forgotten Paper into a Custom Book Journal
WORKSHOP DETAILS:
Duration: 3 Hours Instructors: Heather Grimstead & Wendy In this three-hour workshop, transform paper ephemera into a unique, hardcover junk journal. Junk journals breathe new life into materials that might otherwise be discarded — everything from vintage sheet music and magazine pages to old maps and scrap paper. This beginner-friendly workshop proves that you don’t need to be an artist to make a great journal! All materials are provided. Participants will leave with a book they create in class, plus a take-home kit with supplies to continue building their new journals.

EQUIPMENT
Your safety is always our priority. We provide all necessary PPE based on the type of work being performed, including items such as N95 masks, gloves, eye and ear protection, and protective aprons. Our instructors will guide you on proper safety practices throughout the class.

OF THE TRADE
Participants work with real tools and materials used in the trades, providing hands-on experience that reflects real-world conditions. All tools and materials required for the workshop are included for use during the workshop.

FIRST AID &
SAFETY PREPAREDNESS
While safety is emphasized in every workshop, we are fully prepared should an accident occur. Our facility is equipped with first aid kits, two emergency eye wash stations, and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

SNACKS &
BEVERAGES
Hands-on work can build up an appetite, so we offer a small refreshment station with complimentary soda, water, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and individually packaged snacks.
