DRYWALL REPAIR BASICS

Say goodbye to holes and cracks - learn to patch and perfect like a professional!

250 US dollars

WORKSHOP DETAILS:

Skill Level: Beginner Friendly Duration: Approximately 4 hours Age Requirement: 14 and up Instructor: Judson Stiles What Is Included: All tools, materials, and personal protective equipment. Dress Code: Closed toe shoes. Comfortable clothing you do not mind getting dirty. No loose jewelry. Longer hair pulled back. The construction industry is projected to need nearly 500,000 new workers in 2026, and drywall finishers rank among the hardest to find. Professional drywall repair averages $350 to $650 per service call, and shoddy work does not reveal itself until weeks later, when joint compound shrinks or patches ghost through fresh paint. Knowing what quality looks like is one of the best ways to protect your home. What this workshop covers: • How to properly cut, measure, and install drywall patches. • Techniques for repairing cracks, nail pops, and corner dings. • How to mix and apply joint compound with the right coats and thickness. • How to sand and feather edges for a paint ready finish. • How to recognize which problems are DIY friendly and which signal a bigger issue. Hands on practice: You will work with real materials and professional grade tools, practicing patching small holes and dents, mudding and feathering joint compound, and sanding to a smooth finish. Worth taking even if you never plan to patch drywall yourself. Sloppy work hides easily; bad patches ghost through fresh paint weeks after a contractor leaves. You will know what good work looks like, what to ask before hiring, and what red flags should make you walk away. Reserve your spot and start fixing walls with confidence. ‼️ Breaks & Meals: Participants are welcome to take breaks as needed; however, workshop instruction will continue during unscheduled breaks. Full-day workshops include a 30-minute meal break. Complimentary beverages and individually packaged snacks are provided. Participants may bring a lunch, use the on-site refrigerator and microwave, or visit one of the mall restaurants. Those with food sensitivities or dietary restrictions are encouraged to plan accordingly. ‼️ Timing Notice: Our workshops are interactive. Occasionally, classes may run slightly past the scheduled end time to ensure students feel confident with the material. Please allow for some flexibility in your schedule.
