Even if you never plan to install tile yourself, you’ll walk away knowing what professional work should look like and how to spot red flags in poor installations.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

Our Tile & Grout Basics Workshop provides a hands-on introduction to the core principles of professional tile installation. Participants will learn the fundamentals of surface preparation, layout, tile cutting, thinset and grout application, material selection, and proper tool usage while gaining a better understanding of the techniques that separate amateur work from professional-quality results.

 

Led by licensed contractors, this workshop combines live demonstrations with hands-on practice using real materials and professional-grade equipment.

Learn the foundational skills behind professional tile installation while saving money on common home upgrades and repairs.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Breaks & Meals:

Participants are welcome to take breaks as needed; however, workshop instruction will continue during unscheduled breaks. Full-day workshops include a 30-minute meal break. Complimentary beverages and individually packaged snacks are provided. Participants may bring a lunch, use the on-site refrigerator and microwave, or visit one of the mall restaurants. Those with food sensitivities or dietary restrictions are encouraged to plan accordingly.

 

Timing Notice:

Our workshops are interactive. Occasionally, classes may run slightly past the scheduled end time to ensure students feel confident with the material. Please allow for some flexibility in your schedule.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE
EQUIPMENT

Your safety is always our priority. We provide all necessary PPE based on the type of work being performed, including items such as N95 masks, gloves, eye and ear protection, and protective aprons. Our instructors will guide you on proper safety practices throughout the class.

TOOLS & MATERIALS
OF THE TRADE

Participants work with real tools and materials used in the trades, providing hands-on experience that reflects real-world conditions. All tools and materials required for the workshop are included for use during the workshop.

FIRST AID &
SAFETY PREPAREDNESS

While safety is emphasized in every workshop, we are fully prepared should an accident occur. Our facility is equipped with first aid kits, two emergency eye wash stations, and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

SNACKS &
BEVERAGES

Hands-on work can build up an appetite, so we offer a small refreshment station with complimentary soda, water, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and individually packaged snacks.
