In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn how to install a classic subway tile backsplash from start to finish. Whether you're tackling a weekend DIY project or just want to build confidence before hiring a contractor, this class will walk you through each step of the process using real tools and materials. What's Covered: • How to measure the square footage of the space • How to plan your layout • How to use trowels, and tile cutters • How to bring outlets/switches to first surface • Proper techniques for mixing and applying thinset • How to measure and cut tile • Grouting, sealing, and finishing touches for a professional look • Troubleshooting common mistakes and tips for success Led by licensed, experienced contractors, this workshop offers a blend of demonstration and hands-on learning using real materials and professional-grade equipment.

Your safety is always our priority. We provide all necessary PPE based on the type of work being performed, including items such as N95 masks, gloves, eye and ear protection, and protective aprons. Our instructors will guide you on proper safety practices throughout the class.

Participants work with real tools and materials used in the trades, providing hands-on experience that reflects real-world conditions. All tools and materials required for the workshop are included for use during the workshop.

FIRST AID &
SAFETY PREPAREDNESS

While safety is emphasized in every workshop, we are fully prepared should an accident occur. Our facility is equipped with first aid kits, two emergency eye wash stations, and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

SNACKS &
BEVERAGES

Hands-on work can build up an appetite, so we offer a small refreshment station with complimentary soda, water, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and individually packaged snacks.
