TEEN WORKSHOPS: DRYWALL REPAIR BASICS

Discover the Skilled Trade of Drywall Repair — Learn Techniques Used by Industry Professionals.

250 US dollars

WORKSHOP DETAILS:

Duration: Approximately 4 hours | Age: 14 to 17 | Instructor: Richard Jenkins What Is Included: All tools, materials, and personal protective equipment. Dress Code: Closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothing your teen does not mind getting dirty, no loose jewelry, longer hair pulled back. What this workshop covers: • Identifying drywall damage types and the right repair method for each. • Cutting, measuring, and installing drywall patches. • Mixing and applying joint compound to fill imperfections. • Sanding and feathering to a clean, paint-ready finish. • How patience and technique make repairs blend seamlessly. Hands-on practice: Students work with real tools and materials under direct supervision, practicing patching, mudding, feathering, and sanding on actual surfaces - building the muscle memory that turns repairs invisible. Why This Trade Matters: Drywall is in every home, office, and commercial building in the country. Every new build, renovation, and remodel depends on skilled workers who can finish it to a professional standard - making this one of the most consistent and reliable sources of work in the construction industry. Where This Can Take Them: Drywall finishing is a specialized skill that keeps tradespeople consistently busy. Those who master it can work for established contractors, take on independent jobs, or build their own business - specializing in finishing, texturing, or full installation and building a reputation that earns its own referrals. These are skills your teen will actually use: Knowing how to patch a doorknob hole or fix a corner ding before move-out could be the difference between getting a security deposit back or not. These repairs come up in every apartment and home - and teens who can handle them confidently save real money at every stage of life, whether they enter the trades or not. Reserve your teen's spot today. ‼️ Breaks and Meals: Short breaks are available throughout. Full-day classes include a 30-minute supervised meal break. Beverages and snacks are provided. Students may bring a packed lunch or visit a mall restaurant with parent permission. Please send appropriate options if your teen has food allergies. ‼️ Timing Notice: Our workshops are hands-on and may run a few minutes past the scheduled end time. Please plan for flexible pickup arrangements.
