225 US dollars

WORKSHOP DETAILS:

Duration: Approximately 4 hours Age Requirement: 14 to 17 years old Instructor: Judson Stiles What Is Included: All materials and personal protective equipment. Dress Code: Closed toe shoes. Comfortable clothing students will not mind getting dirty. No loose jewelry. Longer hair pulled back. What this workshop covers: A hands on introduction to the essential power tools used in most home projects: • Drill and driver • Mitre saw • Circular saw • Jigsaw • Reciprocating saw • Multi tool • Nail gun Students also learn to read tool specs, corded versus cordless options, and when to rent versus buy. Hands on practice: With one on one guidance from a professional, students set up, hold, and operate each tool in a supportive environment built for first timers. Every step is taught with safety first, including PPE, tool handling, and posture. No question is too basic. These are skills your teen will actually use. Students leave knowing how to safely handle the tools needed to mount a TV, hang shelves, build a bookshelf, or tackle small projects around the house. Your teen will carry these skills into dorm rooms, first apartments, and future homes, eventually passing them on to friends and family. Whether they pursue the trades or take a different path, knowing how to handle a drill and a saw makes them more capable and confident for life. Reserve your teen's spot today. ‼️ Breaks & Meals: Students may take short breaks during the workshop, though instruction continues so they will not miss core content. Full-day classes include a 30-minute supervised meal break. Complimentary beverages and individually packaged snacks are provided. Students may bring a packed lunch and use our on-site refrigerator and microwave, or visit one of the mall restaurants with parent permission. Parents: if your teen has food allergies or dietary restrictions, please send appropriate options. ‼️ Timing Notice: Our workshops are interactive and we occasionally run a few minutes past the scheduled end time so every student leaves confident with the material. Parents and students, please build a little flexibility into your pickup or departure plans.
