TEEN WORKSHOPS: MOLDING INSTALLATION

The detail work that commands top pay - and makes every room look complete.

275 US dollars

WORKSHOP DETAILS:

Duration: Approximately 4 hours | Age: 14 to 17 | Instructor: Judson Stiles What Is Included: All tools, materials, and personal protective equipment. Dress Code: Closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothing your teen does not mind getting dirty, no loose jewelry, longer hair pulled back. What this workshop covers: • Crown, base, and shoe molding overview and applications. • Measuring walls, corners, and molding runs. • Inside versus outside corners and common trim challenges. • Compound miter saw and brad nailer basics for trim installation. • Caulking techniques and prep for a paint-ready finish. Hands-on practice: Students work with a compound miter saw, coping saw, brad nailer, and caulk gun under direct supervision - practicing each step of a real trim installation from layout through finishing. Why This Trade Matters: Finish carpentry is what transforms a construction project into a polished, completed space. Trim work requires precision, patience, and a trained eye - and skilled finish carpenters are among the most sought-after tradespeople in residential construction and renovation. Where This Can Take Them: Finish carpentry is a specialized trade that commands respect and steady demand. Those who develop real skill have options - work for custom home builders, join renovation crews, or build their own specialty business focused on high-end trim and finish work. A strong reputation in this trade builds its own clientele. These are skills your teen will actually use: Understanding trim work means knowing what quality looks like, what to ask for when hiring someone, and how to handle upgrades and repairs in a home they own. Teens who develop this skill carry real value into future homes - saving money, adding value to their space, and never being taken advantage of by a contractor. Reserve your teen's spot today. ‼️ Breaks and Meals: Short breaks are available throughout. Full-day classes include a 30-minute supervised meal break. Beverages and snacks are provided. Students may bring a packed lunch or visit a mall restaurant with parent permission. Please send appropriate options if your teen has food allergies. ‼️ Timing Notice: Our workshops are hands-on and may run a few minutes past the scheduled end time. Please plan for flexible pickup arrangements.
