TEEN WORKSHOPS: PLUMBING BASICS

WORKSHOP DETAILS:

Duration: Approximately 4 hours | Age: 14 to 17 | Instructor: Dave Frizell What Is Included: All tools, materials, and personal protective equipment. Dress Code: Closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothing your teen does not mind getting dirty, no loose jewelry, longer hair pulled back. What this workshop covers: • Replacing a toilet wax ring, fill valve, and flapper. • Replacing hot and cold faucet stems and aerators. • Replacing a mixing valve cartridge and tub or shower downspout. • How to safely shut off water and replace a toilet shut-off valve. • Pro Press fittings as a modern alternative to soldering. Hands-on practice: Students work step by step with real fixtures and tools, handling every repair directly - leaving with the skills to silence a running toilet, fix a dripping faucet, and shut off the water supply before a small leak becomes a serious problem. It is a licensed trade requiring technical knowledge, problem-solving under pressure, and a steady hand, and skilled plumbers are in demand that consistently outpaces supply. Students may bring a packed lunch or visit a mall restaurant with parent permission. Please send appropriate options if your teen has food allergies. ‼️ Timing Notice: Our workshops are hands-on and may run a few minutes past the scheduled end time. Please plan for flexible pickup arrangements.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change. Our refund policy is designed to be fair while allowing us to prepare properly for each workshop. ​15+ Days Before Workshop Cancellations made 15 or more days prior to the scheduled workshop date are eligible for a full refund. Refund requests must be submitted in writing to info@tradeworxacademy.com. ​8–14 Days Before Workshop Cancellations made between 8–14 days prior to the scheduled workshop date are not refundable, but you will receive a credit equal to the value of your registration. This credit may be applied toward a future workshop of equal or lesser value and must be used within one (1) year of the original workshop date. Request must be made in writing to info@tradeworxacademy.com 7 Days or Less Before Workshop Cancellations made 7 days or less prior to the workshop date are not eligible for a refund or credit. Workshop Cancellations by TradeWorx Academy In the rare event that TradeWorx Academy must cancel a workshop, all registered participants will be transferred to a future workshop of equal value. If that date does not work for you, we will work with you to find an alternate workshop within one year of the original workshop date. By registering for a workshop, you agree to these policies. TradeWorx Academy reserves the right to cancel a workshop if registration falls below the minimum of five participants. In such cases, you will receive a full credit or be offered the option to transfer to another workshop.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE
EQUIPMENT

Your safety is always our priority. We provide all necessary PPE based on the type of work being performed, including items such as N95 masks, gloves, eye and ear protection, and protective aprons. Our instructors will guide you on proper safety practices throughout the class.

Participants work with real tools and materials used in the trades, providing hands-on experience that reflects real-world conditions. All tools and materials required for the workshop are included for use during the workshop.

FIRST AID &
SAFETY PREPAREDNESS

While safety is emphasized in every workshop, we are fully prepared should an accident occur. Our facility is equipped with first aid kits, two emergency eye wash stations, and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

SNACKS &
BEVERAGES

Hands-on work can build up an appetite, so we offer a small refreshment station with complimentary soda, water, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and individually packaged snacks.
