TEEN WORKSHOPS: PLUMBING BASICS

One of the highest-earning trades - and every home needs it.

365 US dollars

WORKSHOP DETAILS:

Duration: Approximately 4 hours | Age: 14 to 17 | Instructor: Dave Frizell What Is Included: All tools, materials, and personal protective equipment. Dress Code: Closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothing your teen does not mind getting dirty, no loose jewelry, longer hair pulled back. What this workshop covers: • Replacing a toilet wax ring, fill valve, and flapper. • Replacing hot and cold faucet stems and aerators. • Replacing a mixing valve cartridge and tub or shower downspout. • How to safely shut off water and replace a toilet shut-off valve. • Pro Press fittings as a modern alternative to soldering. Hands-on practice: Students work step by step with real fixtures and tools, handling every repair directly - leaving with the skills to silence a running toilet, fix a dripping faucet, and shut off the water supply before a small leak becomes a serious problem. Why This Trade Matters: Plumbing is essential infrastructure - every home and building depends on it. It is a licensed trade requiring technical knowledge, problem-solving under pressure, and a steady hand, and skilled plumbers are in demand that consistently outpaces supply. Where This Can Take Them: Plumbing offers one of the clearest career paths in the trades - apprenticeship to journeyman to master plumber, with each level opening new opportunities. Those who reach the top can work for established contractors, run their own crews, or build a business and brand entirely their own. These are skills your teen will actually use: A running toilet, dripping faucet, or slow leak can cause serious damage if ignored. Teens who can identify and fix these problems - and shut off the water when it matters - carry that knowledge into every home they ever live in, saving money and preventing costly damage for life. Reserve your teen's spot today. ‼️ Breaks and Meals: Short breaks are available throughout. Full-day classes include a 30-minute supervised meal break. Beverages and snacks are provided. Students may bring a packed lunch or visit a mall restaurant with parent permission. Please send appropriate options if your teen has food allergies. ‼️ Timing Notice: Our workshops are hands-on and may run a few minutes past the scheduled end time. Please plan for flexible pickup arrangements.
