WORKSHOP DETAILS:

Duration: 4 hours Age Requirement: Must be 14-17 years of age. Dress Code: Closed-toe shoes required. Comfortable, well-fitted clothing that you won't mind getting dirty.  No loose jewelry.  Longer hair should be pulled back in a ponytail or ball cap. This hands-on workshop is designed for teens who want to experience what it’s really like to work with electrical systems, not just learn about them. Whether you're considering a career path, want to build real-world skills, or simply enjoy working with your hands, this class offers a practical introduction to the electrical trade in a safe, guided environment. This workshop is part of our Teen Try The Trades Series, designed to give students exposure to different trades so they can discover what interests them and begin building valuable, real-world skills. What You’ll Learn: How Electricity Works in the Real World Understand the fundamentals of electricity through real-life application and how electricians approach their work. Electrical Safety and Code Basics Learn essential safety practices and Code standards professionals follow to protect themselves and the homes they work in. Hands-On Wiring Experience Work with wire, make proper connections, and see how circuits come together. This is real skill-building, not just observation. Inside the Electrical Panel Learn how panels function, how circuits are organized, and how power is distributed throughout a home. How Power Flows Through a Home Follow electricity from the source to outlets, switches, and fixtures to understand how everything connects.
